Registration is now open for the 2022 Deputy Sheriffs' Memorial Golf Tournament

The past two months have been filled with exciting developments and successful events for our association. The DSA store relaunch was a resounding success! Thanks to your continued support and the hard work of our dedicated team, we are back to being open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Our store now has friendly and knowledgeable staff to assist you.

Additionally, we’ve created a DSA Store tab on our website that includes the payroll deduction form and our firearms inventory which is updated weekly. Both are accessible at dsasd.org/dsastore. We encourage you to check them out and take advantage of these new features.

The recent Wave Waterpark event was a great opportunity for DSA member families to come together. We are committed to hosting more family-friendly events in the future, providing opportunities for bonding and camaraderie within our association.

The Deputy Sheriffs’ Memorial Golf Tournament is coming up on September 18th. This event holds special significance as it not only promises a day of fun but also allows us to raise funds for the Deputy Sheriffs’ Foundation, supporting our fellow deputies and the communities we serve. Sign-ups are ongoing at dsasd.org/golf, and I urge you to reserve your spot quickly, as a limited number of foursomes remain available. Let’s make this event a memorable one while contributing to a noble cause.

On another important note, we have a director election coming up, and we are actively seeking interest from members who wish to run for a spot on the board of directors. If you are passionate about shaping the future of our association and have fresh ideas to bring to the table, I encourage you to consider running. The nomination petition can be found on page 44. Original signed and completed petitions must be submitted to the DSA office for verification by November 9th at 12:00 p.m. Candidates will be announced at the November 9th meeting. Voting will take place on the Ique portal and will begin on Monday, November 27 at 8:00 a.m. Voting will be open for 10 business days and will conclude on December 8 at 12:00 p.m. The terms of the newly elected directors will come into effect on January 11, 2024.

As we move forward, my commitment as your president remains steadfast. We will continue to prioritize transparency in decision-making and inclusivity when addressing issues affecting our members and our association. Your input and involvement are vital to the success of our mission, and I assure you that your voices will be heard.

Stay safe and take care of one another.
