Registration is now open for the 2022 Deputy Sheriffs' Memorial Golf Tournament

The past five months have been both rewarding and challenging. We have successfully negotiated a three-year contract and have been addressing internal issues related to the store investigation while improving the efficiency of DSA’s daily operations. DSA members have voted to ratify the tentative agreement. The Board of Supervisors approved the contract, and it was implemented on June 30th, 2023.

The implementation of electronic voting for this election has proven to be one of the most significant changes made for the betterment of the association. I want to thank everyone for their participation. Voting on a contract, or for a director holds great importance, and the level of participation demonstrates that our members truly determine the board’s priorities.

Thanks to the timeliness and effectiveness of electronic voting, we no longer need to maintain a 30-day voting period. Going forward, we will implement a 10-day electronic voting window.

The DSA store investigation is still ongoing, but our new FFL was granted.  We plan on selling firearms after the implementation of a new point-of-sale system.   This is great news for the DSA, and we appreciate the ATF working with us on the store investigation and assisting in the FFL application process to acquire a new DSA FFL.

We will be hosting a DSA store Re-Launch on Friday, July 28th to celebrate the exciting new changes made to the store.

The Deputy Sheriffs’ Memorial Golf Tournament is on September 18th at Morgan Run Club and Resort.   This event aims to raise funds for our foundation, which provides relief and support to San Diego County Deputy Sheriffs and the communities they serve.   If you are interested in volunteering or purchasing a ticket, they are available on our website DSASD.org/golf. Stay safe and take care of each other.

Thank you.
