San Diego County Deputy Sheriffs' Foundation
Memorial ScholarshipsThe San Diego County Deputy Sheriffs’ Foundation scholarship program was created in 2010 after Deputy Ken Collier was tragically killed in a traffic accident in the line of duty. Though Collier’s untimely passing was not the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department’s first or only loss, the tragic event served as a poignant reminder of our duty to remember and honor the lives of our fallen.
Each year, the Deputy Sheriffs’ Foundation awards two scholarships to Class 1 Active DSA members; nine scholarships are awarded to the dependents of Class 1 Active or Retired DSA members. Dependent scholarships are for high school seniors of Active Class 1 or retired DSA members. Students must be attending an accredited 2- or 4-year university within the next academic year. Click below to be taken to our scholarship portal.
DSA Active Class 1 Members who have been a member in good standing for at least one year are eligible for the DSA Member scholarship. Click the link below to be taken to our online scholarship portal.
