The public is invited to join the DSA for food, fun & entertainment starting at 2:00 p.m. by purchasing a $10 general admission ticket to the DSA BBQ Competition.

Enjoy a plate of delicious BBQ cooked by the DSA & its members. Live entertainment, beer, cornhole, and other lawn games will make for a fun afternoon as we crown the Kings or Queens of BBQ for the Sheriff’s Department.
Included in General Admission:
- Event access
- 1 plate of food from the DSA BBQ trailer
Compete as a Team:
Join the DSA on Saturday, October 28 to compete for the esteemed title of “BBQ Champion” of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. The cost to enter is $100 per team which includes Tri -tip, Ribs & Chicken.
The DSA provides:
- All meat for the competition
- 1 easy-up tent
- 1 6′ table & 2 chairs
- Access to electricity & water

The competition will kick off at 9:00 a.m. at the DSA office with food prepared, then official judging will take place at 4:00 p.m. Categories that will be judged:
- Best Chicken
- Best Ribs
- Best Tri-tip
- Best Appetizer
- Best Overall
Teams must bring their own smoker or BBQ, supplies, and any other items not listed as included with the registration fee. Teams are limited to 4 people, and one team member must be a DSA member.
