How We Got Started
The Memorial Golf Tournament began in 2019. Prior to its founding, two separate golf tournaments, the Ken Collier Memorial Golf Tournament and the Lonny Brewer Memorial Golf Tournament, existed to honor two of the deputies lost in the line of duty on the San Diego Sheriff’s Department. The two committees decided to merge the tournaments in order to honor all nine of our fallen.
Our first tournament honoring all nine deputies was held in November 2019. Due to COVID-19, the events for 2020 were cancelled. We are grateful to bring back the tournament for it’s second year and to honor the fallen of the San Diego Sheriff’s Department.
What We Support
The San Diego County Deputy Sheriffs’ Foundation is an IRS recognized 501(c)3 charitable foundation that provides relief and support to San Diego County Deputy Sheriffs and the communities they serve. Backed by the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of San Diego, the foundation works to enrich the community while supporting the men and women who protect our families.
